Board Elections
The Board of Trustees consists of five members who reside in the District's boundaries (one from each District area) and are qualified voters. They are elected by voting districts and serve without pay for four-year staggered terms. Elections are held biennially in even numbered years on the same day as state general elections, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
The Buena Park Library District transitioned from At-Large elections to By-Trustee Area elections in November 2021. You can find information about the transition to By-Trustee Area elections here.
Annually, the Board of Trustees elects members to serve as officers. The Board has three officer positions: President, President Pro Tem, and Secretary.
Trustees are elected officials and are required to file a Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Form 700 with the Clerk of the Orange County Board of Supervisors annually.
