Passport appointments are now open. 

The system is set up to take appointments up to two weeks from today's date.  When making an appointment you need to select a service in order to see available dates and times.  If no appointments are available, we recommend  checking the calandar often as cancellations will open up new appointments.

**A passport card is good for land and sea travel from Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. The card may not be used to travel by air.

**La tarjeta de pasaporte es válida para viajes por tierra y mar desde México, Canadá, el Caribe y las Bermudas. La tarjeta no se puede utilizar para viajar en avión.

2. Execution Fee/Cargo por Tramitar

Routine Processing:  Processing times may vary. Please visit travel.state.gov for current processing times.

Emergency Passports: Travelers who have urgent international travel within 14 calendar days or need a foreign visa within 28 calendar days need to make an appointment with the Los Angeles Passport Agency at 1-877-487-2778 (24-hour appointment scheduling system). Proof of travel is required.

Passport Renewals: Most renewals can be done by mail. If you have a passport that was issued less than 15 years ago and you were at least 16 years old when it was issued, you may be able to submit a self-service renewal. Please visit the U.S. Department of State - Passports by Mail page to see if you qualify to use the service.

Note: U.S. Passport fees are standardized. All passport acceptance agency charges a $35 acceptance fee.

 Effective May 1, 2023 the Library will be accepting passport applications by appointment only.  No walk-ins or phone appointments accepted.
